As a client recently put it, "We're in the back nine of 2024." If you don't recognize the golf analogy, it means we're in the second half of the year. While it’s tempting to enjoy the summer and push any desire for change to the fall, I challenge you to start your wellness journey now rather than wait for the elusive "perfect moment." Set Realistic and Achievable Goals

The second half of the year is a great time to reassess and set new goals. My approach involves:

  1. Determining your why: Understand the motivation and values behind your goals.

  2. Finding what fills up your cup: Identify what activities feel good for your body and mind.

  3. Making it a reality: Break down your goals into manageable steps and create a plan to achieve them.

This framework helps you to focus on what matters most to you and makes it easier to move forward.


Escape the All-or-Nothing Mentality

Perfectionism often leads to an all-or-nothing mindset, which can create decision fatigue and halt progress. Instead, focus on consistency and give yourself grace. Aim for continuous improvement rather than perfection and practice self-compassion. Establish a routine that supports your goals, and remember that setbacks are part of the process. The key is to keep trying and moving forward.


Strengthen Your Sense of Self

Self-discovery is about curiosity and learning from experiences. Life is a game of trial and error, after all. Pay attention to how your body responds to different activities, foods, and situations. Be open to trying new things and take time to reflect on your experiences. This awareness can guide your choices and deepen your understanding of yourself.
